Welcome to Swellendam, South Africa's 3rd oldest town. Conveniently nestled against the Langeberg mountains it lies halfway between Cape Town and Knysna. Surrounded by 6 nature reserves, first time visitors often stay longer as they discover the multitude of activities the area has to offer. To discover Swellendam's charm yourself, arrive at Swellendam Backpackers, settle in, relax, enjoy a sunset from the tower hill and fall in love with our beautiful town.
Family room
Capacity: 6 people
Our family room can sleep up to 5 people on a double bed,
a bunk bed and a single bed. More beds can be arranged by
request
En suite
Capacity: 2 people per room, 3 rooms available
One room is part of the main backpacker building and has
its own shower, toilet and basin
Our second room is across the road on our neighbours' propery
and offers an en suite bathroom, fully furnished lounge
and kitchen.
Doubles
Capacity: 5 double rooms available
We offer rustic wooden cabins in our large garden as double
rooms. All rooms have comfortable double beds and paraffin
lamps. We have one double in the main building with electricity.
Dorms
Capacity: 8, 5 and 4 people
We have three rooms that serve as dormitories. The largest
dorm is connected to the main building. We have a family
room that sleeps 5 and a cabin that sleeps 4.
Camping
Our safe camping area is over ahectare big, complete with
trees, a mountain stream and a fire place. We have space
for many campers who have full access to our ablution facilities,
kitchen and lounge areas.

Two Feathers Horse Trails
Two Feathers offers scenic rides through forests,
across rivers and along the foothills of the Langeberg mountain
range. All levels of riders are welcome.
Walk or canter? Breathtaking or heart stopping? It's up
to you. Rides twice daily; early morning or late afternoon,
for one or two hours. For more accomplished riders, there
are full day rides with riverside forest picnics.
