Masakala is a friendly rural village close to Matatiele on the border of the Eastern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal. It offers a stunning view of the Southern Drakensberg and a chance to discover the warm-heartedness of the Sotho and Xhosa people. Other activities in Masakala: guided walking tours to local rock art treasures, bird watching, horse riding, a visit to local project and meeting the crafters. Or simply rest and enjoy the place and its peace
Mehloding is owned and run by the community. They hope that through sustainable eco-tourism, employment will be created from which everyone can benefit.
