Gecko Creek is a 517 hectare private nature reserve. This mountain hideaway borders the 80,000 hectare Cederberg Reserve; a world of awe-inspiring rock formations, bushman caves and endless hiking trails. The lodge offers the solitude and grandeur setting of ancient and mystical times, where the soul can breathe along with magical sunrises and sunsets.

Cederberg is home to the regal Cape Leopard as well as baboons and many small antelope. Birdlife is impressive with over 165 species including the Black Eagle. The Olifants River is a stones throw away.

Gecko Creek is self-catering and offers cabins and dens overlooking the valleys and mountains. Facilites include a Lapa for gathering and cooking as well as a  fire warmed open air Boma, stunning salt water swimming pool and outstanding ablutions. The stars are like ‘diamonds on velvet’ with a shooting star every 15 minutes.

Gecko Creek is the  ideal  hub for exploring the Cederberg, only 6 km off the N7 and easily accessible. Daily bus service from Cape Town and shuttle collection available. Scenic flights over the Cederberg are available.

Directions:

Take the N7 north. 29km after citrusdal, take a right to Algeria/Cederberg. Look out for the Gecko creek sign at 4,2 km on the right!
